“I have this theory that if one person can go
out of their way to show compassion, then it will start a chain reaction
of the same. People will never know how far a little kindness can go.”

Rachel's Challenge
This week my school was blessed with the opportunity to hear about Rachel's Challenge. Rachel Joy Scott was the 1st victim in the Columbine shooting in 1999. Rachel was a person who knew she was going to make a difference in the world in a positive way. She once said " People will never know how far a little kindness can go." Rachel's Challenge has brought a knew perspective on how I view my life. Rachel was comfortable in her own skin and was never afraid to stand up for someone who needed it, she never let anyone feel alone. She knew she could change the world and she did everything in her power to do so. Rachel's story has challenged me to put others before myself and to be comfortable in my own skin. I'm not afraid to speak up and be heard. Thanks to a teacher ( who remains anonymous) I was nominated with about 100 other to go to a leadership training session and to kick off the WHS Friends Of Rachel (F.O.R) Club. I am so blessed to be involved with this club. I'm ready to change the way people view our school and make it a positive environment. Yes I know I sound like some high school counselor/principle going on about changing the school for good and blah blah blah, but I truly believe in what Rachel's Challenge is all about and that a little kindness can go a long way. So now I challenge you what was the last kind thing you said or did for someone? How would someone remember you if this moment was your last? I challenge you to think about how you want to be remembered cause you never know what moment could be your last and to think about how you could make a difference. Rachel believed one small act of kindness would off a chain reaction that could the world. So I ask you.... Are you ready to start a chain reaction?
